Global Leaders, Inc. (GL) is acting on the truth that language experts have long known: as children grow older, it becomes more difficult for them to master a new or second language. For this reason, GL brings its language development educational services to young learners.
The English Learning Online (ELO) programs target young students in elementary and middle schools and grant them an opportunity to master English language before pursuing their advanced secondary school education.
The ELO programs developed and operated by GL are not “one size fits all” learning methods; rather, they are highly customized to individual students’ learning needs and goals.
The ELO programs offer constructive and positive opportunities for national and even global educational outreach through live, real-time, interactive, online teaching services.
We Are Internet-Based
By embracing and utilizing innovative Internet technology, GL provides a cost-effective means of serving students throughout the United States and around the globe as they strive to master the most recognized international language: North American English.
Today’s Internet technology empowers GL instructors with the practical means and tools to teach all essential English language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
We Serve
1. Young American Students.
The ELO programs serve primarily young, disadvantaged, Asian-American students throughout the United States. GL actively and consciously reaches out and serves those young students who, unlike their peers, do not have the required support to learn English language. They may lack the necessary support due to their family’s limited resources, or perhaps their family simply cannot provide educational assistance in English language. They may lack critical support because their schools do not have the required funding for a sufficient level or number of learning programs for students who speak English as a second language.
GL helps young American students master the English language so that they can excel in their schools and in their everyday lives.
GL serves young American students so that they can serve as our competent future Global Leaders who will maintain and enhance America’s excellence and prominence worldwide.
2. Young Foreign Students.
The ELO programs, when resources permit, also provide limited online sessions to disadvantaged young students abroad (such as in China, Mongolia, and South Korea).
The ELO programs provide affordable and innovative virtual learning services that help foreign students acquire English language skills, but the programs’ benefits do not end there. The ELO programs also ensure that foreign students have the opportunity to learn about the vibrantly diverse American culture and its people. The ELO programs work to affect the global perspective of the United States positively by creating a deeper and richer understanding of the country and its people.
We Understand
GL has learned from its years of working with hundreds of disadvantaged students that their families often simply cannot afford the time or money required to transport them to learning centers or after-school programs. Therefore, we at GL continue to make every effort to enhance our online learning programs - such as ELO - so that we can reach out to our targeted students in more affordable, effective, and practical ways.
GL also understands the immense costs associated with traveling abroad to study foreign languages. Other alternatives such as online language learning programs by profit-focused (not student-focused) corporations are also often simply unaffordable for many foreign students. Rather than bringing these students to the American classrooms, therefore, GL is determined to bring the American classrooms, staffed by highly competent instructors, to the foreign students in their respective countries.
We Offer Three Types of English Learning Online Programs
1. One-On-One Sessions
GL instructors’ most preferred method of teaching is one-on-one. From our years of experience working with many students of diverse backgrounds and educational levels in many different types of arrangements and settings, we have learned that the students have the best opportunities to receive proper and timely instruction during one-on-one sessions.
During the one-on-one sessions, GL instructors can discover the individual students’ learning needs quicker than in group settings. This allows GL instructors to quickly address and invest valuable time in the true learning needs of individual students.
The most significant benefit of one-on-one sessions is that the GL instructors can specifically design their curriculum to help individual students achieve their fullest personal learning potentials.
To ensure quality instruction and to facilitate communication, GL requires that our GL instructional coordinators monitor both our instructors and adults who have the authority to assist students at their respective homes or learning sites. The parents, guardians, or staff at students’ respective learning sites (whether at students’ homes or schools) likewise must oversee the students who are working with our instructors.
2. Small Group Instructions
GL instructors assist small groups of students through ELO programs. During online small group sessions, GL instructors work with a small number of two to five students to provide real-time guidance, instruction, and feedback.
To ensure quality instruction and to facilitate communication, GL requires that our GL instructional coordinators monitor both our instructors and designated staff who are assisting students at their respective small group study locations. The designated staff at students’ sites (whether in Des Moines, Iowa, or Washington, D.C.) likewise must oversee the students who are working with our GL instructors.
3. Virtual Classrooms
As a still more affordable option, GL instructors provide students with a virtual classroom experience. Professionally trained and skilled English instructors work with students through the Internet to provide live instruction in real time. Classroom sizes may range from five to fifty students.
To ensure quality instruction and to facilitate communication, GL requires that our GL instructional coordinators monitor both our instructors and designated staff who are assisting students at their respective classroom locations. The designated instructors at the students’ classroom sites (whether in Virginia or Mongolia) likewise must oversee the students who are working with our GL instructors.
